Job description

Step Teachers are a preferred supplier for Teach in Herts; as a part of our ongoing success in building and retaining relationships with many schools and academy trusts in the area we are currently looking for recent graduates in Broxbourne and the surrounding areas for Cover Supervisor roles starting in September. This can be flexible work on a day-to-day basis, or longer term positions, and we have both part time and full time positions.

We work with a variety of schools in and around Hemel Hempstead. The role of a Cover Supervisor will allow you to gain teaching experience in a variety of secondary schools and experience what it is like to be in front of a class. This is also good way to build your confidence as a teacher and is great route to gain experience before doing your teacher training.

Role:

  • Cover lessons in the absence of the regular teacher
  • Ensure the class are on target with the pre-set work
  • Effectively manage the behaviour of the class
  • Upkeep a tidy, organised classroom with accessible resources where needed
  • Work efficiently with any additional staff where applicable
  • Willingness to comply with the schools’ policies and implement them effectively

Requirements:

  • Completed undergraduate degree or higher
