Head of Geography
Job description
We are seeking a passionate and dynamic Head of Geography to lead a successful Geography department. This is an excellent opportunity for an ambitious teacher with strong subject knowledge and leadership skills to inspire students and staff alike. Beginning ASAP.
Duties as Head of Geography:
Lead and manage the Geography department, ensuring high standards of teaching and learning.
Develop and deliver a rich, engaging curriculum across KS3, KS4.
Monitor and support pupil progress, attainment, and achievement.
Mentor, guide, and support colleagues within the department.
Organise field trips, enrichment opportunities, and extracurricular activities to bring Geography to life.
Ensure effective use of resources and maintain high-quality teaching standards.
Contribute to whole-school initiatives and strategic development.
Ideal Head of Geography:
Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent.
Proven track record of successful teaching in Geography.
Strong subject knowledge and passion for the subject.
Leadership or management experience (or readiness to step into a leadership role).
Excellent communication, organisational, and interpersonal skills as Head of Geography.
Commitment to continuous improvement and student success.
