Job description
An Autism specific Primary School is looking for caring, enthusiastic, and motivated individuals to join a welcoming team as SEN Teaching Assistants, supporting children with Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD). No previous experience is required as full training will be provided – just a passion for helping children learn, grow, and achieve. Starting ASAP.
Duties as SEN Teaching Assistant:
Support children with autism in the classroom, both 1:1 and in small groups.
Encourage communication, social skills, and independence.
Assist teachers in creating a safe, structured, and inclusive learning environment.
Help pupils regulate their emotions and manage transitions throughout the day.
Work closely with staff and parents to ensure consistent support.
Ideal SEN Teaching Assistant:
No prior experience needed – full training and guidance will be provided.
A caring, patient, and positive attitude.
Willingness to learn strategies for supporting children with autism.
Strong communication and teamwork skills as a SEN Teaching Assistant.
