Job description

Step Teachers are working closely with a Primary School in Haringey to find a dedicated and enthusiastic Higher Level Teaching Assistant (HLTA) to join their team starting in September 2025. This is an exciting opportunity to make a real impact on children's learning and development in a nurturing environment.

Higher Level Teaching Assistant - Role:

  • Making a positive impact on the lives of children with diverse learning needs.
  • Supporting teaching and learning across the school, including delivering lessons in the absence of a teacher.
  • Working closely with class teachers to plan and deliver engaging activities.
  • Providing targeted support for individual pupils and small groups.
  • Encouraging positive behaviour and providing pastoral support to children when required.
  • Providing feedback to parents and carers on children’s progress and achievements.

Higher Level Teaching Assistant - Requirements:

  • Minimum Level 4 HLTA qualification.
  • Previous experience working as a Higher Level Teaching Assistant.
  • Strong communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively as part of a team.
