Humanities Teacher – Full-time, temporary paternity cover role from March 2026

Duties as Humanities Teacher:

  • Teach planned lessons in Philosophy and Religion, Religious Studies, and Sociology
  • Deliver high‑quality lessons with no planning or marking required
  • Support pupils in developing critical thinking, discussion, and analytical skills
  • Maintain consistent behaviour expectations and promote positive routines
  • Adapt teaching approaches to meet varied learning needs
  • Provide general cover across the school when required
  • Collaborate with colleagues to maintain a cohesive curriculum approach
  • Uphold safeguarding expectations and prioritise pupil welfare

Ideal Humanities Teacher:

  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) with experience in Humanities subjects
  • Confident delivering Philosophy and Religion, Religious Studies, and Sociology at secondary level
  • Strong classroom and behaviour management skills
  • Ability to engage pupils in reflective and analytical thinking
  • Good communication and organisational abilities
  • Flexible, proactive, and committed to supporting pupil progress
  • Dedicated to safeguarding and promoting pupil well‑being
