Job description
KS2 Teaching Assistant – Part-time, long-term temporary role from May 2026 until June 2026, 3 to 4 mornings per week
This school provides a warm, nurturing, and well‑organised learning environment where pupils benefit from supportive staff, clear routines, and purposeful teaching. Leaders work collaboratively with teachers and support staff to maintain high expectations, helping pupils feel safe, confident, and ready to learn. Pupils respond positively to calm, consistent approaches that encourage independence, resilience, and steady academic progress.
Duties as KS2 Teaching Assistant:
- Support KS2 pupils across 3 to 4 mornings per week
- Assist with small‑group work, interventions, and 1:1 learning activities
- Provide additional support to pupils with SEND needs where required
- Reinforce key skills in literacy, numeracy, and wider curriculum tasks
- Help maintain positive behaviour and consistent routines
- Support teachers with classroom preparation and resource organisation
- Promote pupils’ social, emotional, and academic development
- Uphold safeguarding expectations and prioritise pupil welfare
Ideal KS2 Teaching Assistant:
- Experience supporting KS2 pupils
- SEND experience is preferred
- Patient, calm, and proactive in meeting varied learning needs
- Confident delivering small‑group and 1:1 support
- Effective communicator with strong teamwork abilities
- Able to follow teacher direction while using initiative where appropriate
- Reliable, organised, and committed to supporting pupil progress
- Dedicated to safeguarding and promoting pupil well‑being
