SEND Teaching Assistant – Full-time, Temp to perm starting March 2026

Role Introduction

Duties as SEND Teaching Assistant:

Provide full-time support for pupils with a range of SEND needs
Assist with learning activities, emotional regulation, and personalised strategies
Support 1:1 and small-group learning across different subjects
Help pupils working significantly below age-related expectations
Reinforce key learning through modelling, repetition, and structured routines
Implement behaviour and learning plans consistently
Collaborate with teachers and SEN teams to deliver targeted support
Uphold safeguarding expectations and prioritise pupil welfare

Ideal SEND Teaching Assistant:

Strong SEND experience is essential
Confident supporting pupils working at lower developmental levels
Calm, patient, and resilient when supporting complex needs
Effective communicator with strong teamwork skills
Able to follow guidance while using initiative
Reliable, proactive, and committed to long-term support
Dedicated to safeguarding and promoting pupil well-being
