Job description

Nursery/Reception Teacher – Full-time maternity cover from March 2026, potentially ongoing into the new academic year

We are seeking a passionate Nursery/Reception Teacher to join a vibrant and inclusive early years setting. The school provides a nurturing environment where children feel safe, happy and eager to learn. Duties as Nursery/Reception Teacher:

  • Plan and deliver engaging lessons in line with the EYFS framework
  • Create a stimulating and inclusive classroom environment
  • Monitor and assess pupil progress, adapting teaching strategies as needed
  • Work closely with support staff and parents to promote holistic development
  • Encourage social, emotional, and academic growth through play-based learning
  • Maintain accurate records and contribute to school reports and meetings

Ideal Nursery/Reception Teacher:

  • Holds Qualified Teacher Status (QTS)
  • Experience teaching in Early Years settings, preferably Nursery or Reception
  • Strong understanding of EYFS curriculum and child development
  • Excellent classroom management and communication skills
  • Passionate about early education and creating positive learning experiences
  • Committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children
