Reception Teaching Assistant

We are looking for a nurturing and enthusiastic Reception Teaching Assistant to join a friendly and supportive early years team. This is a fantastic opportunity to help give young children the best possible start to their school journey. Beginning September 2025.

Duties as a Reception Teaching Assistant:

• Support the class teacher in delivering a stimulating and engaging Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS) curriculum.

• Work with individual children and small groups to support learning through play and structured activities.

• Assist with phonics, early literacy, numeracy, and language development.

• Help to set up, organise, and maintain an inspiring learning environment, both indoors and outdoors.

• Support children’s social and emotional development, encouraging independence and good behaviour.

• Supervise children during playtimes, lunchtimes, and on local trips as required.

• Assist with preparing resources, displays, and classroom materials.

Ideal Reception Teaching Assistant:

• Experience working with young children in an EYFS setting is desirable.

• A good understanding of the Early Years Foundation Stage framework.

• A caring, patient, and enthusiastic approach to supporting children’s learning and wellbeing.

• Strong communication and teamwork skills as a Reception Teaching Assistant.

• A commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of all children.
