Religious Education Teacher
Job description
Are you passionate about exploring life’s big questions, promoting tolerance, and developing students' understanding of worldviews and ethics? We are seeking an enthusiastic Religious Education Teacher to join a humanities faculty and inspire a thoughtful and respectful approach to religion, belief, and philosophy. You will teach RE across Key Stages 3 and 4, with the possibility of A-Level Philosophy, Ethics, or Religious Studies depending on experience. The successful candidate will create engaging lessons that encourage debate, reflection, and critical thinking. Beginning September 2025.
Duties as a Religious Education Teacher:
Plan and deliver high-quality RE lessons aligned with the national curriculum
Teach across various faiths, philosophies, and ethical frameworks with balance and respect
Foster an inclusive classroom environment that values diversity of belief
Prepare students for internal and external assessments (e.g. GCSE/A-Level RS)
Contribute to curriculum planning and whole-school SMSC (spiritual, moral, social, cultural) development
Support school assemblies, interfaith events, and enrichment opportunities
Ideal Religious Education Teacher:
Qualified Teacher Status (QTS)
A degree in Theology, Religious Studies, Philosophy, or a related subject
A commitment to inclusive education and promoting respectful dialogue
Strong classroom management and communication skills as a Religious Education Teacher.
A reflective and collaborative approach to teaching
Enthusiasm for inspiring young people in exploring moral and spiritual questions
