We are looking for two dedicated SEMH Teaching Assistants to join an Alternative Provision School on a long-term, temporary, ongoing basis, starting as soon as possible.

Learners and apprentices thrive in a caring, respectful environment with strong support from dedicated staff. Effective pastoral care and tailored teaching help them stay on track and succeed. Those with additional needs benefit from a life-skills-focused curriculum, and all learners develop confidence, maturity, and social skills. Safeguarding is robust, and learners feel safe and supported.

Duties of the SEMH Teaching Assistants:

• Support students with Social, Emotional, and Mental Health (SEMH) needs in both 1:1 and small group settings.

• Help to create a safe, structured, and supportive learning environment.

• Assist the class teacher in delivering tailored learning plans.

• Encourage positive behaviour and engagement through patience and consistency.

• Build strong relationships with students, promoting confidence and emotional well-being.

Ideal SEMH Teaching Assistants:

• Previous experience working with students with SEMH needs or within an alternative provision setting.

• Strong behaviour management skills and a calm, resilient approach.

• A genuine passion for supporting young people with additional needs as the SEMH Teaching Assistants.

• Ability to work well within a team and follow individual learning plans.
