Job description
We are seeking an experienced and proactive SEN HLTA to support children with special educational needs across the school. This is an excellent opportunity for someone who is passionate about inclusion and confident in taking a lead role in supporting teaching and learning. Beginning ASAP.
Duties as SEN HLTA:
Plan and deliver small-group or one-to-one interventions for pupils with a range of SEN, under the guidance of the SENCO and class teachers
Lead whole-class teaching when required, using your HLTA training to cover lessons
Adapt and differentiate resources to meet the individual needs of learners
Monitor, assess and record pupil progress, feeding back to teachers and parents/carers
Work closely with external professionals and contribute to Education, Health and Care Plan (EHCP) reviews
Promote a safe, nurturing, and stimulating environment that supports social, emotional, and academic development
Ideal SEN HLTA:
HLTA status or equivalent qualification
Proven experience working with children with a variety of special educational needs (e.g. ASD, ADHD, speech and language difficulties)
Strong communication, organisational, and behaviour management skills as a SEN HLTA.
Ability to work independently and show initiative, as well as part of a team
Commitment to safeguarding and ongoing professional development
