Job description

We are looking for a skilled and experienced SEN Teaching Assistant to join a dedicated team. This is an excellent opportunity for a qualified professional with a passion for supporting children with additional learning needs to thrive in both their academic and personal development. Beginning September 2025.

Duties as a SEN Teaching Assistant:

  • Provide individual and small group support to pupils with a range of Special Educational Needs.

  • Work alongside the class teacher and SENCO to deliver tailored interventions and support programmes.

  • Contribute to the planning and implementation of EHCP/IEP targets.

  • Adapt learning activities and resources to meet the needs of pupils.

  • Support children’s social, emotional, and behavioural development, promoting confidence and independence.

  • Build strong, positive relationships with pupils, staff, and parents/carers.

Ideal SEN Teaching Assistant:

 

  • A recognised SEN qualification (e.g., CACHE Level 3, SEN Diploma, or equivalent).

  • Proven experience supporting children with SEN within a school setting.

  • A strong understanding of different SEN needs, strategies, and interventions.

  • Excellent communication, organisation, and teamwork skills as a SEN Teaching Assistant.

  • A patient, empathetic, and professional approach.
