Job description

We are looking for a caring and committed SEN Teaching Assistant to join a school. This is a rewarding opportunity to support children with special educational needs and help them achieve their full potential in a nurturing environment. Beginning September 2025.

Duties as SEN Teaching Assistant:

 

  • Provide one-to-one and small group support for pupils with a range of SEN needs.

  • Work alongside teachers to deliver tailored learning activities.

  • Support pupils’ academic, social, and emotional development.

  • Assist with behaviour management and help create an inclusive classroom environment.

  • Build positive relationships with pupils, staff, and parents.

  • Support with personal care and additional needs where required.

Ideal SEN Teaching Assistant:

 

  • Experience working with children or young people with SEN (desirable but not essential).

  • A patient, empathetic, and resilient approach to supporting learning.

  • Strong communication and teamwork skills as a SEN Teaching Assistant.

  • Ability to adapt to the individual needs of pupils.

  • Commitment to safeguarding and promoting the wellbeing of all students.
