Job description

We are seeking an enthusiastic and dedicated Year 1 Teacher to join a warm and supportive primary school. This is a fantastic opportunity for a passionate educator to inspire young learners as they progress through the crucial early stages of their education. Beginning September 2025.

Duties as a Year 1 Teacher:

 

  • Teach a Year 1 class, delivering engaging and creative lessons across the curriculum.

  • Plan, prepare, and assess learning in line with the national curriculum.

  • Support pupils in developing strong foundations in literacy, numeracy, and personal development.

  • Create a nurturing and stimulating classroom environment that encourages curiosity and independence.

  • Work closely with colleagues, parents, and carers to ensure the best outcomes for children.

  • Contribute to the wider life of the school, including extracurricular activities.

Ideal Year 1 Teacher:

 

  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent.

  • Strong knowledge of the KS1 curriculum and early childhood development.

  • Ability to inspire and motivate young learners.

  • Excellent communication, organisation, and classroom management skills as a Year 1 Teacher.

  • A commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of pupils.
