SEN Teaching Assistant

We are looking for a caring and proactive SEN Teaching Assistant to join a supportive school team.
You will work closely with teachers and the SENCO to provide individual or small-group support for pupils with a range of special educational needs, such as autism, ADHD, speech and language difficulties, or social, emotional and mental health needs. Beginning ASAP.

Duties as a SEN Teaching Assistant:

• Provide one-to-one or small-group learning support tailored to individual pupil needs.

• Help plan and deliver differentiated activities that encourage engagement and progress.

• Support pupils in developing confidence, independence, and positive behaviour.

• Assist with personal care needs where necessary.

• Maintain accurate records of pupil progress and communicate effectively with staff and parents.

• Contribute to a safe, inclusive and stimulating classroom environment.

Ideal SEN Teaching Assistant:

• Experience working with children in a school or childcare setting (SEN experience desirable but not essential).

• Patience, empathy, and excellent communication skills as a SEN Teaching Assistant.

• Ability to build positive relationships with pupils and staff.

• A proactive approach to supporting learning and managing behaviour.

• Enhanced DBS check (or willingness to obtain one).

• Commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children.
