SEN Teacher – Primary – Trafford – Step Teachers
Start: ASAP (Sept 2025) Pay: MPS/UPS (PAYE)
Hours: Full-time Mon–Fri 8:30am–3:30pm
Contract: Temp-to-Perm for the right person
We’re working with a supportive primary special needs school in Trafford that caters for children aged 5–11 with Autism and Complex Needs. Pupils are working at highly differentiated levels, with individual learning pathways tailored to their developmental stage.
This SEN Teacher role is perfect for a creative, patient, and nurturing teacher who is passionate about delivering engaging, child-centred learning that supports communication, independence, and personal development. The school places a strong focus on inclusion, safety, positive relationships, and holistic growth—ensuring every child feels valued and able to thrive.
As an SEN Teacher, you’ll lead a small primary class with the support of experienced teaching assistants. You’ll plan and deliver lessons adapted to pupils’ individual needs, focusing on communication, sensory learning, social interaction, and life skills. Using structured routines and creative approaches, you’ll help pupils overcome barriers, develop confidence, and engage positively in their education. You’ll also work closely with therapists, pastoral staff, and families to ensure a consistent and supportive approach.
What you’ll need:
- QTS or QTLS, with teaching experience in special schools or SEN settings
- Experience teaching children with Autism and/or Complex Needs
- Knowledge of EYFS, primary curriculum, or The Engagement Model
- A calm, creative, and empathetic approach to teaching
- A genuine passion for supporting children with additional needs
