Job description

We are seeking a passionate and skilled SEND Teacher to join a team on a long-term temporary, ongoing basis starting in October 2025.

Join a school with a strong culture of aspiration, where pupils feel safe, supported, and motivated to succeed. Staff deliver a broad and ambitious curriculum, build positive relationships, and create an environment where effort is recognised and learning is enriched through trips, clubs, and pupil voice.

This role involves teaching and supporting students both within mainstream classes and in a dedicated ASD Provision, with a particular focus on pupils with high sensory needs.

Duties as a SEND Teacher:

  • Plan and deliver differentiated lessons that meet the individual needs of students with SEND, including those with autism and sensory processing needs.

  • Provide tailored strategies and interventions to support learning, communication, and personal development.

  • Work collaboratively with mainstream teachers, support staff, and external professionals to ensure inclusive education and consistency of provision.

  • Create a safe, structured, and engaging learning environment that supports sensory regulation and positive behaviour.

  • Track and assess pupil progress, maintaining accurate records in line with school policies.

  • Uphold the highest standards of safeguarding, care, and professional practice.

Ideal SEND Teacher:

  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS).

  • Experience working with pupils with SEND, particularly autism and high sensory needs.

  • A strong understanding of strategies to support pupils within both mainstream and specialist settings.

  • Excellent communication, organisation, and teamwork skills as a SEND Teacher.

  • Patience, empathy, and a commitment to enabling all learners to achieve their potential.
