SEND Teaching Assistant

We are looking for a dedicated and compassionate SEND Teaching Assistant to join a supportive and dynamic team. This is a rewarding opportunity to support children and young people with special educational needs and disabilities in a nurturing and inclusive educational setting. Beginning September 2025.

Duties as a SEND Teaching Assistant:

• Provide 1:1 and small group support to pupils with SEND

• Assist in the implementation of Education, Health and Care Plans (EHCPs)

• Adapt learning resources to meet individual needs

• Work collaboratively with teaching staff and external professionals

• Monitor and record pupils’ progress and behaviour

• Promote a positive and inclusive classroom culture

Ideal SEND Teaching Assistant:

• Experience working with children with SEND (in education or care settings)

• Strong communication and interpersonal skills as a SEND Teaching Assistant.

• A patient, empathetic, and flexible approach

• An understanding of safeguarding and child protection procedures

• Relevant qualifications (e.g. Level 2/3 in Supporting Teaching and Learning, or equivalent) – desirable but not essential
