SEND Teaching Assistant

 We are looking for a caring and committed Special Educational Needs & Disabilities (SEND) Teaching Assistant to join a inclusive school on a long-term temporary basis. This is a rewarding opportunity to support children with a range of additional needs while gaining valuable classroom experience. Starting as soon as possible.

Duties as a SEND Teaching Assistant:

• Provide one-to-one and small-group support for pupils with SEND.

• Help adapt lesson materials and activities to suit individual learning needs.

• Foster a positive, inclusive environment that promotes independence and confidence.

• Work closely with class teachers, the SENCO and external professionals to implement personalised support plans and EHCP targets.

• Keep accurate records of progress and communicate regularly with staff and parents/carers.

Ideal SEND Teaching Assistant:

• Level 2 or 3 Teaching Assistant qualification (or equivalent) preferred.

• Experience supporting children with SEND in a school setting is advantageous.

• Excellent communication skills, patience and a nurturing approach as SEND Teaching Assistant.

• Understanding of safeguarding and commitment to the welfare of all pupils.
