We are seeking a committed Full-Time SEND Teaching Assistant for a long-term temporary role starting in November 2025, with the potential to become permanent.

SEND Teaching Assistant – Key Responsibilities

Provide 1:1 support to secondary-aged pupils with SEMH needs
Deliver targeted phonics-based reading interventions
Assist in the planning and implementation of personalised learning strategies
Support pupils in managing behaviour and developing emotional regulation
Collaborate with teaching staff and SENCO to monitor progress and adapt support
Promote a safe, inclusive, and engaging learning environment
Contribute to the wider school community and uphold safeguarding responsibilities

SEND Teaching Assistant – Ideal Candidate

Relevant Teaching Assistant Qualification.
Experience working with children or young people with SEMH needs
Familiarity with phonics-based reading programmes
Strong communication and interpersonal skills as a SEND Teaching Assistant.
Ability to build trusting relationships with pupils and staff
Committed to promoting pupil wellbeing and academic progress
Understanding of safeguarding practices and procedures
Willingness to work flexibly and adapt to individual pupil needs
