Senior Science Technician

This school is seeking a reliable, organised and enthusiastic Science Technician to support a busy and successful Science department. This is an exciting opportunity to play a vital role in helping deliver practical science lessons that inspire curiosity and engagement in students from Key Stage 3 to Key Stage 5. Beginning September 2025.

Duties as a Science Technician:

• Prepare, set up and clear away equipment and materials for practical science lessons (Biology, Chemistry and Physics).

• Ensure the safe storage, handling and disposal of chemicals and equipment, following health and safety guidelines (e.g., CLEAPSS).

• Assist teaching staff in the delivery of practical activities, including occasional in-class support.

• Maintain an accurate inventory of equipment and chemicals and assist with ordering stock.

• Carry out regular maintenance and cleaning of laboratory equipment.

• Support the implementation of health and safety policies across the science labs.

Ideal Science Technician:

• A good understanding of basic scientific principles and safe laboratory practices.

• Strong organisational skills and attention to detail.

• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

• Good communication and time management skills as a Science Technician.

• A commitment to maintaining a safe working environment.
