Job description

We are seeking a passionate and dynamic Spanish Teacher to join a thriving Modern Foreign Languages department. This is an exciting opportunity for a talented and enthusiastic individual to inspire and motivate students in their language learning journey across Key Stage 3 and Key Stage 4. Beginning September 2025.

Duties as a Spanish Teacher:

 

  • Plan and deliver high-quality lessons in Spanish that engage and challenge all learners.

  • Assess, monitor, and report on the progress and attainment of students in line with school policies.

  • Differentiate lessons effectively to meet the needs of students with varying abilities, including those with SEND or EAL.

  • Create a positive and inclusive classroom environment that supports students' development, confidence, and enjoyment of language learning.

  • Use data and assessment outcomes to inform teaching and provide targeted support and intervention.

  • Contribute to curriculum development and the design of high-quality teaching resources.

  • Prepare students for internal and external assessments, including GCSE and/or A-level examinations where applicable.

  • Participate in departmental meetings, school events, and whole-school CPD.

  • Uphold school policies and procedures, including behaviour, safeguarding, and equality.

  • Support extra-curricular activities such as language clubs, trips, and cultural events to enrich students’ learning experiences.

  • Maintain accurate records of attendance, assessments, and student progress.

Ideal Spanish Teacher:

 

  • Be a qualified teacher with QTS (or equivalent).

  • Have a strong subject knowledge of Spanish and a passion for language teaching.

  • Be committed to high standards of teaching, learning, and student achievement.

  • Be able to deliver engaging, inclusive, and well-structured lessons as a Spanish Teacher.

  • Be a team player who is willing to contribute to the wider life of the school.
