Special Needs Specialist – Long-term, temporary and ongoing from January 2026

Duties as Special Needs Specialist:

Deliver high-quality lessons tailored to meet the needs of pupils with SEND
Plan and adapt resources to support individual learning requirements
Work collaboratively with teaching assistants and support staff
Monitor and assess pupil progress, providing feedback to parents and staff
Promote positive behaviour and emotional well-being
Uphold safeguarding and welfare standards at all times

Ideal Special Needs Specialist:

Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) is essential
Experience teaching pupils with SEND needs
Strong classroom management and organisational skills
Ability to differentiate lessons and engage learners effectively
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
Commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children
