Job description
Special Needs Specialist – Long-term, temporary and ongoing from January 2026

Duties as Special Needs Specialist:
- Deliver high-quality lessons tailored to meet the needs of pupils with SEND
- Plan and adapt resources to support individual learning requirements
- Work collaboratively with teaching assistants and support staff
- Monitor and assess pupil progress, providing feedback to parents and staff
- Promote positive behaviour and emotional well-being
- Uphold safeguarding and welfare standards at all times
Ideal Special Needs Specialist:
- Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) is essential
- Experience teaching pupils with SEND needs
- Strong classroom management and organisational skills
- Ability to differentiate lessons and engage learners effectively
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children
