Job description

We are seeking an enthusiastic and committed Year 2/3 Teacher to join a supportive and dynamic team. This is an exciting opportunity for a passionate educator to work with a mixed-age class, nurturing children as they transition from Key Stage 1 into lower Key Stage 2. Beginning September 2025.

Duties as a Year 2/3 Teacher:

 

  • Plan and deliver engaging and creative lessons tailored to meet the needs of both Year 2 and Year 3 pupils.

  • Create a safe, inclusive and stimulating classroom environment that supports learning and wellbeing.

  • Assess, track and report on pupil progress in line with national expectations.

  • Differentiate teaching to cater for a range of abilities and learning styles.

  • Foster positive relationships with pupils, parents and colleagues.

  • Contribute to the wider life of the school, including extra-curricular activities and school events.

Ideal Year 2/3 Teaching Assistant:

 

  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS).

  • Experience teaching in Key Stage 1 and/or Lower Key Stage 2.

  • A strong understanding of the curriculum requirements for Years 2 and 3.

  • A creative, flexible and proactive approach to teaching and learning.

  • Excellent communication and classroom management skills as a Year 2/3 Teaching Assistant.

  • A commitment to supporting every child to achieve their potential.
