Job description

We are seeking a motivated and creative Year 2 Teacher to join welcoming primary schools across the Cambridge area.
You will help pupils consolidate their Key Stage 1 learning, prepare for Key Stage 2, and inspire a lifelong love of learning. Beginning ASAP.

Duties as Year 2 Teacher:

 

  • Plan, prepare and deliver engaging lessons aligned with the Year 2 curriculum, including SATs preparation.

  • Differentiate teaching to meet the needs of all pupils, including those with SEND or EAL.

  • Track, assess and report on progress, setting clear next steps for improvement.

  • Maintain a positive, inclusive and stimulating classroom environment.

  • Collaborate with colleagues, parents and carers to support pupil wellbeing and achievement.

  • Contribute to whole-school activities, trips and enrichment opportunities.

Ideal Year 2 Teacher:

 

  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS/QTLS) or recognised equivalent.

  • Experience teaching Year 2 or Key Stage 1 is desirable; enthusiastic ECTs are welcome.

  • Strong classroom management and organisational skills as a Year 2 Teacher.

  • Ability to inspire, motivate and engage young learners.

  • Enhanced DBS check (or willingness to obtain one).

  • Commitment to safeguarding and inclusive practice.
