Job description

An exciting opportunity to join a 'good’ Stevenage school has arisen, as they seek to appoint a Year 4 class teacher to start at the beginning of March. The role of a Year 4 class teacher is a temporary post in a refreshingly dynamic school with a reputation for academic excellence. The role of a Year 4 teacher should be approached with dedication and drive and consistently reflect the aspirations of the school.

  • As a Year 4 teacher you must contribute to and actively support the overall ethos/work/aims of the School.
  • As a Year 4 teacher you must comply with, support and promote all school policies and procedures, particularly those relating to child protection, equal opportunities, racial equality, health, safety and security, confidentiality, behaviour and data protection.
  • You should have a creative and thoughtful approach to curriculum planning, demonstrating the ability to incorporate national trends and data sets into your approach as a Year 4 teacher.
  • At the heart of everything you do will be your passion for your subject and the desire to inspire and motivate pupils to excel.

The vibrant atmosphere means that the students enjoy their academic study and are equipped with excellent social and emotional skills. The School offers excellent professional development opportunities, are keen to recruit staff who promote a ‘can do’ attitude and who are ambitious for their students to make excellent progress. The staff at this school work hard to recognise the needs of individuals, placing suitable demands on them and stimulating them to achieve success. They are proud to create ordered and friendly communities where relationships are positive, founded on courtesy, respect and shared values.

Candidates will be subject to a variety of checks including an enhanced DBS check, full references including your most recent employer and eligibility to work in the UK. Step Teachers are fully committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people and expects all staff to share this commitment.

Unlike other agencies, Step Teachers are more than happy to process your pay via PAYE – you will not be forced to go with an Umbrella Company.
