Job description

We are looking for a dedicated and enthusiastic Year 5 Teacher to join a supportive and forward-thinking team. This is an excellent opportunity for a passionate educator to make a real impact on pupils’ learning and development during this vital stage of Key Stage 2. Beginning June 2025.

Duties as a Year 5 Teacher:

 

  • Plan and deliver engaging, creative, and well-structured lessons in line with the Year 5 curriculum

  • Assess and monitor pupils' progress, adapting teaching to meet the needs of all learners

  • Create a positive and inclusive classroom environment with high expectations for behaviour and achievement

  • Work effectively with teaching assistants, colleagues, and parents to support pupil outcomes

  • Contribute to the wider life of the school through enrichment, clubs, or school events

Ideal Year 5 Teacher:

 

  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS)

  • Experience teaching in Key Stage 2 (preferably in Year 5)

  • Strong knowledge of the primary curriculum and effective assessment strategies

  • Excellent communication and organisational skills as a Year 5 Teacher.

  • A creative and reflective approach to teaching

  • A commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children
