Year 6 SEN 121 Teaching Assistant

We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Year 6 SEN 1:1 Teaching Assistant to join a supportive school community. This is a rewarding opportunity to make a real difference in the educational journey of a pupil with Special Educational Needs. Beginning ASAP.

Duties as a SEN 121 Teaching Assistant:

• Provide tailored 1:1 support for a Year 6 pupil with identified SEN.

• Assist in implementing individual learning plans (EHCP/IEP) under the guidance of the class teacher and SENCO.

• Support the pupil’s academic, social, and emotional development.

• Adapt resources and learning activities to meet the child’s specific needs.

• Promote independence, confidence, and inclusion in all aspects of school life.

• Work collaboratively with teachers, SEN staff, and parents/carers.

Ideal SEN 121 Teaching Assistant:

• Experience working with children with SEN (especially in Key Stage 2) is desirable.

• Strong communication and interpersonal skills as a SEN 121 Teaching Assistant.

• A patient, empathetic, and resilient approach.

• Ability to use initiative while following guidance from teachers and SENCO.

• A genuine commitment to supporting children’s learning and wellbeing.
