Job description

We are seeking an inspiring and creative Drama Teacher to join a passionate team. You will deliver engaging and high-quality drama lessons that foster creativity, confidence and communication skills in students. This is a fantastic opportunity to shape a thriving department and contribute to a vibrant cultural life within the school. Beginning September 2025.

Duties as a Drama Teacher:

 

  • Plan and deliver engaging lessons across Key Stages 3–5.

  • Develop pupils’ performance skills, creativity and appreciation of theatre.

  • Support students in practical and theoretical work, including preparation for GCSE/A-Level or equivalent qualifications.

  • Organise and direct school performances, showcases and enrichment activities.

  • Contribute to whole-school arts and cultural initiatives.

  • Assess, track and report on student progress.

  • Create a safe, inclusive and stimulating learning environment.

Ideal Drama Teacher:

 

  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent teaching qualification.

  • Specialism in Drama or Performing Arts.

  • Passion for drama and the ability to inspire students of all abilities.

  • Strong classroom management and organisational skills as a Drama Teacher.

  • Experience of directing productions and working collaboratively on school events is desirable.

  • Commitment to safeguarding and promoting student wellbeing.
