Job description

Step Teachers are delighted to be asked to resource for an outstanding drama teacher at a mixed academy school based in Plymouth.

The school has recently undergone a transformation and at its most recent Ofsted inspection was rated good.  The role of drama teacher is on a supply basis to start in January but could lead to a permanent role for the right candidate.

To be able to be considered for the role of drama teacher you should:

  • Have a subject-specific teaching qualification
  • Be an outstanding practitioner with proven ability to understand and utilize current theory and practice
  • Be able to enthuse, lead and develop through mentoring, coaching, evaluating supporting and target setting

We have been working with this school on a regular basis and our teachers have always told us this is a lovely place to work.  The pupils are well behaved and the recent Ofsted report stated there is evidence of strong practice and marked improvement.  Senior leaders have improved the school significantly and the school is well placed to improve further.

Candidates will be subject to a variety of checks including an enhanced DBS check, full references including your most recent employer and eligibility to work in the UK. Step Teachers are fully committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people and expects all staff to share this commitment.

Unlike other agencies, Step Teachers are more than happy to process your pay via PAYE – you will not be forced to go with an Umbrella Company.
