Job description

Step Teachers are a preferred supplier for Teach in Herts; as a part of our ongoing success in building and retaining relationships with many schools and academy trusts in the area we are currently looking for a full time Cover Supervisor for a Specialist Provision School near Hertford. The role will involve supervising a class of students in the absence of their regular teacher. You will not be required to plan lessons or mark work; your role will be to maintain the classroom and the behaviour of the students. 

The school is a specialist SEMH school catering for secondary age students who provide a safe learning environment where the students can develop as healthy and happy individuals. The school are looking for someone who can not only support the students but who can also have a positive effect on the school as well. 

Role:

  • Cover lessons in the absence of the regular teacher
  • Ensure the class are on target with the pre-set work
  • Effectively manage the behaviour of the class
  • Upkeep a tidy, organised classroom with accessible resources where needed
  • Direct and support any additional staff in the classroom where applicable
  • Willingness to comply with the schools’ policies and implement them effectively

Requirements:

  • Completed undergraduate degree or higher
