Job description

General Cover Teacher – Day-to-day supply from as soon as possible
 
These flexible opportunities are ideal for General Cover Teachers who enjoy variety and want to make a positive impact across different school settings in Ipswich and the surrounding areas.

Duties as General Cover Teacher:

  • Deliver pre-planned lessons across a range of subjects and year groups
  • Manage classroom behaviour in line with school policies
  • Ensure pupils remain on task and engaged in their learning
  • Provide feedback to teaching staff on pupil progress and classroom activity
  • Adapt quickly to different school environments and expectations
  • Support pupils’ learning and maintain a positive classroom atmosphere

Ideal General Cover Teacher:

  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent recognised teaching qualification
  • Experience teaching in primary or secondary settings
  • Strong classroom management and communication skills
  • Ability to deliver lessons across a variety of subjects
  • A flexible and proactive approach to supply teaching
  • Confidence in working with different age groups and abilities
  • An Enhanced DBS registered on the Update Service (or willingness to obtain one)
