General Science Teacher
Job description
We are seeking an enthusiastic and knowledgeable General Science Teacher to join a dynamic and supportive Science Department at a vibrant school. This is a fantastic opportunity for an inspiring teacher to nurture scientific curiosity and develop students’ understanding across Biology, Chemistry and Physics. Beginning September 2025.
Duties as a General Science Teacher:
Deliver engaging and well-structured Science lessons across Key Stages 3 and 4
Teach a balanced curriculum covering Biology, Chemistry and Physics topics
Adapt teaching to meet the needs of all learners, ensuring progress and achievement
Prepare students for internal assessments and external qualifications (e.g. GCSE Combined Science or Triple Science)
Plan and carry out practical investigations in a safe, stimulating learning environment
Monitor and assess pupil progress, providing clear and constructive feedback
Contribute to curriculum development, resources, and enrichment opportunities
Participate in science-related activities such as clubs, competitions or STEM events
Uphold the highest standards of behaviour, safeguarding and professionalism
Work collaboratively with colleagues to ensure consistency and quality across the department
Ideal General Science Teacher:
Holds Qualified Teacher Status (QTS or equivalent)
Has a strong academic background in a science-related subject
Is confident teaching general science to students of all abilities
Demonstrates good practical knowledge and enthusiasm for science education
Is committed to student success and continuous improvement
Possesses excellent classroom management and communication skills as a General Science Teacher.
Is reflective, well-organised and able to work well as part of a team
