Geography Teacher
Job description
An innovative and supportive secondary school is seeking a passionate Geography Teacher to join its vibrant Humanities team. This role offers the chance to engage students with the world around them, developing their understanding of physical and human geography and encouraging global awareness. Starting September 2025.
Duties as Geography Teacher:
Teach Geography across Key Stages 3 and 4
Plan and deliver stimulating, differentiated lessons that foster enquiry and critical thinking
Develop students’ skills in map work, data analysis, and geographical investigation
Assess, track, and report on student progress, providing constructive feedback
Contribute to curriculum development and resource creation within the department
Support students preparing for GCSE and other relevant examinations
Promote environmental awareness and a passion for geography beyond the classroom
Participate in fieldwork and enrichment activities where possible
Maintain high standards of classroom management and pupil engagement
Ideal Geography Teacher:
Holds Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or is working towards it
Has a degree in Geography or a closely related discipline
Demonstrates strong subject knowledge and enthusiasm for geography education
Has experience teaching at Key Stage 3 and 4
Is able to engage and motivate students of varying abilities
Possesses excellent communication and organisational skills as a Geography Teacher.
Works collaboratively within a team and contributes to whole-school initiatives
