Position: Higher Level Teaching Assistant (HLTA)
Location: Hackney, London

Step Teachers are working with a ‘Good’ school in Hackney who are seeking a dedicated Higher Level Teaching Assistant to work alongside their SENDCo and senior teaching staff, focusing on raising literacy achievements for students with Special Educational Needs. As a Higher Level Teaching Assistant, you will play a crucial role in addressing the literacy needs of pupils who require specialised input to overcome barriers to learning. This is a full-time permanent position.

Your responsibilities will include:
Providing tailored 1:1 and group teaching interventions to support students with SEND in literacy.
Collaborating with subject teachers to identify and exploit literacy opportunities across the curriculum.
Planning and delivering bespoke interventions to enhance literacy skills.
Assessing, recording, and reporting on pupils' achievements, progress, and development.

Qualifications and Skills:
HLTA qualification or equivalent experience.
Strong understanding of the challenges faced by students with Special Educational Needs.
Excellent communication and collaboration skills.
Proven ability to plan and deliver effective interventions.
Passion for promoting literacy skills and fostering a love for learning.
