Job description

We are seeking an enthusiastic and versatile Humanities Teacher to join a committed team. This is a fantastic opportunity for someone with a passion for History, Geography, Religious Education, or Citizenship to deliver engaging lessons that inspire curiosity, critical thinking, and a global perspective. 

You will teach across Key Stages 3 and 4, with the potential to teach at Key Stage 5 depending on your specialism and experience. The successful candidate will contribute to a dynamic Humanities faculty and have the flexibility to teach one or more subjects within the department. Beginning September 2025.

Duties as a Humanities Teacher:

 

  • Plan and deliver high-quality lessons across Humanities subjects (e.g. History, Geography, RE, Citizenship)

  • Adapt teaching to meet the needs of all learners, encouraging analytical thinking and discussion

  • Prepare students for GCSE examinations, providing effective feedback and support

  • Foster a classroom environment that values enquiry, empathy, and critical reflection

  • Contribute to curriculum development and cross-curricular initiatives

  • Support wider school life through trips, clubs, or enrichment activities related to Humanities

Ideal Humanities Teacher:

 

  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS)

  • A degree in a Humanities-related subject (e.g. History, Geography, Theology, Politics)

  • Strong subject knowledge and versatility across more than one area of Humanities

  • Excellent communication, classroom management, and organisational skills as a Humanities Teacher.

  • A passion for fostering students’ understanding of the world and their place in it

  • A reflective practitioner who values collaboration and inclusion
