Job description

Are you a PE teacher seeking a role in King's Lynn?  Our team has been tasked to recruit a PE teacher to fulfil a long-term PE vacancy that a large academy in King's Lynn has.  This opportunity will be part-time (3 days per week) and will commence as soon as the right candidate is found.

Our ideal candidate will have the below attributes;

  • As a qualified primary teacher, you will be an outstanding practitioner with a proven ability to understand and utilise current theory and practice in relation to learning and development.
  • You should have a suitable teaching qualification
  • An ability to organise, lead and manage a classroom effectively, including assigned support staff will be central to your role.
  • Establish good relationships, encourage good working practices, and support and lead teachers in the phase group.

The staff at this school work hard to recognise the needs of individuals, placing suitable demands on them and stimulating them to achieve success. They are proud to create ordered and friendly communities where relationships are positive, founded on courtesy, respect, and shared values. A key focus for all stakeholders is to develop and maintain strong links between home, school, and, where appropriate, other relevant agencies.

Candidates will be subject to a variety of checks including an enhanced DBS check, full references including your most recent employer, and eligibility to work in the UK.

Step Teachers are fully committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people and expects all staff to share this commitment.

Unlike other agencies, Step Teachers are more than happy to process your pay via PAYE – you will not be forced to go with an Umbrella Company.

Step Teachers are an agency listed as an approved supplier on the Crown Commercial Service.  This is a new framework for schools to use, ensuring they have access to reputable agencies that meet certain safeguarding and recruitment guidelines.  The DfE are heavily marketing this service across schools and we would strongly suggest making sure you are registered with a CCS-approved agency moving forwards.  Registering with Step Teachers ensures you are working for a trusted partner of the DfE.
