Job description
We are seeking a passionate and skilled Physics and Chemistry Teacher to join a committed and dynamic Science Department at successful school. This is a fantastic opportunity to inspire the next generation of scientists across two exciting disciplines. Beginning September 2025.
Duties as a Physics and Chemistry Teacher:
Teach Physics and Chemistry across Key Stages 3 and 4 (Key Stage 5 experience is an advantage)
Deliver engaging and differentiated lessons that foster curiosity, critical thinking, and scientific inquiry
Plan and deliver practical experiments, ensuring high standards of safety and participation
Monitor and assess pupil progress, providing timely feedback and effective support
Prepare students for internal and external examinations, including GCSE and A-level (if applicable)
Contribute to curriculum planning and resource development within the science team
Support science enrichment activities such as STEM clubs, trips, and competitions
Maintain high standards of classroom management, organisation, and student engagement
Collaborate with colleagues to promote interdisciplinary learning and drive departmental improvement
Ideal Physics and Chemistry Teacher:
Holds Qualified Teacher Status (QTS)
Has a degree in Physics, Chemistry, or a closely related scientific discipline
Demonstrates strong subject knowledge in both Physics and Chemistry
Has experience teaching at KS3 and KS4 (KS5 desirable)
Is confident delivering both theoretical and practical science lessons
Is a reflective practitioner with excellent communication and classroom management skills as a Physics and Chemistry Teacher.
Is committed to raising standards, improving outcomes, and engaging all learners
Works effectively as part of a team and contributes to wider school initiatives
