We are seeking a dedicated Full-Time SEMH Teaching Assistant for Year 5 and 6 for a long-term temporary role starting as soon as possible.

SEMH Teaching Assistant – Key Responsibilities

Provide 1:1 and small group support to pupils with SEMH needs
Assist in the implementation of behaviour support plans and emotional regulation strategies
Work closely with the class teacher and SENCO to adapt learning activities
Support pupils in managing transitions and building positive relationships
Promote a safe and inclusive learning environment
Collaborate with colleagues to support whole-school wellbeing initiatives
Uphold safeguarding responsibilities and contribute to pastoral care

SEMH Teaching Assistant – Ideal Candidate

Holds relevant SEMH Teaching Assistant qualifications
Has Team Teach training (essential)
Experience supporting children with SEMH needs in a primary school setting
Strong communication and interpersonal skills as an SEMH Teaching Assistant.
Ability to build trusting relationships with pupils and staff
Committed to promoting pupil wellbeing and academic progress
Understanding of safeguarding practices and procedures
Flexible, resilient, and able to adapt to individual pupil needs
