Support. Care. Empower. Join us as an SEN Teaching Assistant.
This school is looking to appoint a patient, dedicated and enthusiastic SEN Teaching Assistant to support pupils with special educational needs across the school. This is a rewarding opportunity to help children overcome barriers to learning and develop essential life skills in a nurturing and inclusive environment. Beginning September 2025.

Duties as a SEN Teaching Assistant:

 

  • Provide 1:1 or small group support to pupils with a range of SEND, including autism, ADHD, speech and language needs, or SEMH.

  • Assist teachers in adapting lesson materials and classroom strategies to meet pupils’ individual needs.

  • Support pupils' social, emotional and academic development throughout the school day.

  • Implement personalised support plans and EHCP targets under teacher and SENCO guidance.

  • Help create a positive, safe and stimulating learning environment.

  • Liaise with parents, carers and external professionals where necessary.

Ideal SEN Teaching Assistant:

  • Experience working with children or young people with additional needs (in school or similar settings).

  • A caring, patient and calm approach.

  • Good literacy and numeracy skills (GCSE English and Maths or equivalent).

  • Understanding of inclusive education and a commitment to supporting all learners.

  • A relevant qualification (e.g. Level 2/3 Teaching Assistant or SEN Support) – desirable but not essential.

  • Strong teamwork and communication skills as a SEN Teaching Assistant.
