Job description

We are looking for a dedicated and compassionate SEN Teacher to join our team.

In this role, you will plan and deliver engaging lessons tailored to the individual needs of students with special educational needs and disabilities (SEND). You will create a positive, supportive classroom environment where every pupil can thrive academically, socially and emotionally. Beginning September 2025.

Duties as a SEN Teacher:

 

  • Plan and deliver high-quality lessons adapted to meet the diverse needs of students.

  • Develop and implement individual education plans (IEPs).

  • Use a range of teaching strategies and resources to support students with SEND, such as autism, learning difficulties, or social, emotional and mental health needs.

  • Monitor and assess progress, providing regular feedback to parents and carers.

  • Work closely with teaching assistants, the SENCO and other professionals to support students effectively.

  • Foster a safe, inclusive and supportive learning environment.

Ideal SEN Teacher:

  • Hold Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent.

  • Have experience teaching students with special educational needs (desirable).

  • Be patient, resilient and adaptable.

  • Have excellent communication and teamwork skills as a SEN Teacher.

  • Be committed to helping every child reach their full potential.
