Job description
Are you passionate about supporting children with Special Educational Needs, particularly those with speech, language and communication difficulties? We are seeking a dedicated and experienced SEN Teacher with a specialism in Speech and Language to join a supportive and dynamic team. Beginning January 2026.
Duties as SEN Teacher:
Deliver high-quality teaching and tailored learning programmes for pupils with speech, language and communication needs (SLCN).
Work closely with Speech and Language Therapists, SENCOs and other professionals to implement targeted strategies and interventions.
Develop and adapt resources to support students’ communication skills and access to the curriculum.
Monitor and track pupils’ progress, setting achievable goals and celebrating successes.
Support and guide Teaching Assistants and support staff working with pupils with SLCN.
Foster an inclusive, nurturing and engaging learning environment where every child can thrive.
Ideal SEN Teacher:
Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent.
Proven experience working with children with Special Educational Needs, ideally specialising in Speech and Language.
Strong understanding of strategies and interventions to support pupils with SLCN, including AAC (Augmentative and Alternative Communication) where appropriate.
Excellent communication, organisation and teamwork skills as a SEN Teacher.
A creative and patient approach to teaching and supporting learners with diverse needs.
