SEN Teacher

Are you passionate about supporting children with Special Educational Needs, particularly those with speech, language and communication difficulties? We are seeking a dedicated and experienced SEN Teacher with a specialism in Speech and Language to join a supportive and dynamic team. Beginning January 2026.

Duties as SEN Teacher:

• Deliver high-quality teaching and tailored learning programmes for pupils with speech, language and communication needs (SLCN).

• Work closely with Speech and Language Therapists, SENCOs and other professionals to implement targeted strategies and interventions.

• Develop and adapt resources to support students’ communication skills and access to the curriculum.

• Monitor and track pupils’ progress, setting achievable goals and celebrating successes.

• Support and guide Teaching Assistants and support staff working with pupils with SLCN.

• Foster an inclusive, nurturing and engaging learning environment where every child can thrive.

Ideal SEN Teacher:

• Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent.

• Proven experience working with children with Special Educational Needs, ideally specialising in Speech and Language.

• Strong understanding of strategies and interventions to support pupils with SLCN, including AAC (Augmentative and Alternative Communication) where appropriate.

• Excellent communication, organisation and teamwork skills as a SEN Teacher.

• A creative and patient approach to teaching and supporting learners with diverse needs.
