Job description
We are seeking compassionate and proactive Special Educational Needs (SEN) Teaching Assistants to support children and young people in primary and secondary schools across the Norwich area.
You will work closely with class teachers and SENCOs to provide tailored support for pupils with a range of additional needs, including autism, ADHD, speech and language difficulties, and social, emotional, or behavioural challenges. Beginning ASAP.
Duties as SEN Teaching Assistant:
Provide one-to-one or small-group support to pupils with special educational needs.
Assist in planning and delivering differentiated activities that meet individual learning goals.
Encourage independence and build confidence through positive reinforcement.
Help to create a safe, nurturing, and inclusive classroom environment.
Support pupils with personal care needs where required.
Maintain accurate records of progress and communicate effectively with staff and parents.
Ideal SEN Teaching Assistant:
Experience working with children in a school or childcare setting (SEN experience desirable but not essential).
Patience, empathy, and excellent communication skills as SEN Teaching Assistant.
Ability to work collaboratively as part of a team.
A proactive approach to supporting learning and behaviour.
Enhanced DBS check (or willingness to obtain one).
