Job description
We are looking for a compassionate and proactive SEN Teaching Assistant to join a supportive school team.
You will work closely with teachers and the SENCO to support pupils with a range of special educational needs (SEN), helping them access the curriculum and achieve their potential in a safe and inclusive environment. Beginning November 2025.
Duties as a SEN Teaching Assistant:
Provide one-to-one or small-group support for pupils with SEN.
Assist teachers in planning and delivering differentiated activities.
Support pupils’ social, emotional, and academic development.
Encourage independence and confidence through positive reinforcement.
Maintain accurate records of pupil progress and communicate effectively with staff and parents.
Help create a safe, inclusive, and nurturing classroom environment.
Ideal SEN Teaching Assistant:
Experience working with children in a school or educational setting (SEN experience desirable but not essential).
Patience, empathy, and excellent communication skills as a SEN Teaching Assistant.
Ability to build positive relationships with pupils and staff.
A proactive approach to supporting learning and managing behaviour.
Enhanced DBS check (or willingness to obtain one).
Commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children.
