Job description

SEND Teacher – Full-time, temp to perm position starting January 2026

We are seeking a committed SEND Teacher to join a supportive secondary school environment. Pupils are happy and safe, and they benefit from a curriculum that is well matched to their needs and interests. Staff have high expectations for behaviour and learning, and leaders provide strong support to ensure pupils achieve well. The school fosters a culture of respect, inclusion and ambition for all learners.

Duties as SEND Teacher:

  • Deliver engaging lessons across multiple subjects tailored to pupils with SEND
  • Plan and implement individualised learning programmes
  • Monitor and assess pupil progress, adapting strategies as needed
  • Work collaboratively with support staff and external professionals
  • Foster a safe, inclusive and structured classroom environment
  • Contribute to whole-school SEND provision and development

Ideal SEND Teacher:

  • Holds Qualified Teacher Status (QTS)
  • Experience teaching in a secondary SEND setting or with pupils with additional needs
  • Strong understanding of SEND strategies and inclusive teaching practices
  • Excellent communication and behaviour management skills
  • Committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children
  • Flexible, resilient and passionate about supporting all learners
