Job description

This school is looking for a nurturing and enthusiastic Year 1/2 Teacher to join a caring and creative team. This is a fantastic opportunity for a dedicated educator to make a real difference in the early stages of a child’s learning journey, where curiosity is sparked and confidence begins to grow. Beginning September 2025.

Duties as a Year 1/2 Teacher:

 

  • Plan and deliver engaging, inclusive lessons in line with the KS1 curriculum

  • Support the transition from the Early Years into more structured learning

  • Promote early literacy, numeracy, and personal development through creative and child-centred teaching

  • Use assessment effectively to support progress and provide tailored feedback

  • Create a safe, supportive, and stimulating classroom environment

  • Work collaboratively with colleagues, teaching assistants, and parents

Ideal Year 1/2 Teacher:

 

  • A qualified teacher (QTS) with a passion for Key Stage 1 education

  • A creative and adaptable teaching style that supports a range of learning needs

  • Excellent knowledge of the KS1 national curriculum and assessment

  • A caring, reflective practitioner with strong classroom management skills as a Year 1/2 Teacher.

  • Someone committed to high expectations and a growth mindset for all pupils
