Year 1 Teacher
Job description
We are seeking an energetic and creative Year 1 Teacher to join welcoming primary schools across the Norwich area. You will guide pupils as they transition from the Early Years Foundation Stage into Key Stage 1, delivering engaging lessons that spark curiosity and build strong learning foundations. Beginning ASAP.
Duties as a Year 1 Teacher:
Plan, prepare and teach high-quality lessons aligned with the Year 1 curriculum.
Differentiate learning to support mixed-ability groups, including pupils with SEND or EAL.
Track, assess and report on pupil progress, setting clear next steps.
Create a safe, nurturing classroom where every child feels valued and confident.
Work collaboratively with colleagues, parents and carers to promote pupil wellbeing and achievement.
Contribute to whole-school activities, trips and enrichment opportunities.
Ideal Year 1 Teacher:
Qualified Teacher Status (QTS/QTLS) or recognised equivalent.
Experience teaching Year 1 or Key Stage 1 is desirable, though enthusiastic ECTs are welcome.
Strong classroom management and organisational skills as a Year 1 Teacher.
Ability to inspire, motivate and engage young learners.
Enhanced DBS check (or willingness to obtain one).
Commitment to safeguarding and inclusive practice.
