Are you a nurturing and creative teacher who loves helping children take those crucial early steps in their learning journey?

We are looking for an enthusiastic and dedicated Year 1 Teacher to join a vibrant team at a wonderful school. This is a fantastic opportunity to make a real difference during a key transition period from the Early Years into Key Stage 1. Beginning September 2025.

Duties as a Year 1 Teacher:

 

  • Plan and deliver exciting, purposeful lessons that support children’s learning through play and structured teaching

  • Build on the foundations of the Early Years curriculum to ensure a smooth progression into Key Stage 1

  • Assess and monitor pupil progress, adapting teaching to meet the needs of all learners

  • Create a calm, inclusive and stimulating learning environment

  • Work closely with teaching assistants, colleagues, and parents to support the whole child

Ideal Year 1 Teacher:

 

  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS)

  • Experience teaching in EYFS or KS1 (Year 1 experience desirable)

  • Strong understanding of early reading, phonics, and early maths development

  • A warm, positive and reflective approach to teaching

  • Excellent communication and organisational skills as a Year 1 Teacher.

  • A passion for helping young children thrive academically, socially and emotionally
