Job description

We are seeking a dynamic and dedicated Year 5/6 Class Teacher to join a supportive and forward-thinking team. This is an exciting opportunity to teach in an upper Key Stage 2 class and help prepare pupils for the transition to secondary school. Beginning September 2025.

Duties as a Year 5/6 Teacher:

 

  • Deliver high-quality teaching across the KS2 curriculum with a particular focus on readiness for end-of-key-stage assessments.

  • Foster a classroom culture of high expectations, independence and responsibility.

  • Use a range of assessment tools to monitor progress and inform next steps in learning.

  • Inspire a love of learning while developing pupils’ confidence, resilience and curiosity.

  • Support pupils’ social, emotional and academic needs as they approach transition.

Ideal Year 5/6 Teacher:

 

  • A qualified teacher (QTS) with experience or a strong interest in upper Key Stage 2.

  • A reflective practitioner with a commitment to high standards and inclusive teaching.

  • A good understanding of end-of-KS2 expectations, including SATs preparation.

  • Someone who brings creativity, enthusiasm and positivity to their teaching as a Year 5/6 Teacher.

  • A team player who works well collaboratively and builds strong relationships with pupils and parents.
